Laboratory Technologist

General Responsibilities
• Responsible for the operation and preventive maintenance of equipment utilized in the preparation of samples for the metallurgical evaluation of coatings
• Operation of all equipment and instruments in the Coatings Evaluation Laboratory, preparing reports, and supporting production activities
• All work will be conducted under a strict quality process system

Specific Duties
• Responsible to follow specific processing procedures and detect non-conformances or imperfections through surveillance samples
• Responsible for the operation of testing equipment under minimal supervision. This includes but is not limited to:
      • Use of sectioning, mounting, polishing and grinding equipment
      • Inspection using a high magnification metallurgical microscope
      • Use of computer software including data input, physical measurements, report preparation and image processing
      • Sample storage and organization in a manner that facilitates easy retrieval
      • Examine results methodically and document findings
• Responsible for preventive maintenance of all equipment
• Must follow prescribed work methods or explicit instructions
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Duties
• None

Qualifications
• Technician certification/diploma an asset
• Experience in a laboratory/quality control environment
• Ability to operate a computer is required
• Experience working in a quality assurance regulated environment required
• Familiar with the use, handling and storage of solvents, MSDS and labels (WHMIS training of value)
• Experience in metallurgical or coatings inspection an asset

Automated Equipment Engineer

General Responsibilities
• Develop and setup specifications for software and related aids for process improvement
• Participate in programming software for process improvement and automation
• Responsible for technical side of the production process
• Create and review technical documentation
• Manage projects

Specific Duties
• Create and review specifications for software and equipment
• Program control software for equipment
• Analyze project related tasks and specifications (e.g. customer requirements)
• Evaluation of obtained results and summarize/ visualize them for an external or internal customer
• Prepare documentation for coating trial and requirements for testing
• Participating on documenting performed tests
• Write and review process instructions and related documents
• Respond to email requests in timely manner
• Attend meetings, response to emails, submit timesheets in timely manner
• Other assigned duties

Qualifications
• Degree in Engineering or Computer science
• Excellent knowledge of Labview or equivalent software
• Excellent knowledge of PLC programming
• Intermediate knowledge of .NET and SQL
• Hands-on experience with equipment and tooling
• Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint including writing macros
• Knowledge of engineering statistics
• Excellent report writing skills
• Able to work in high-pace environment
• Basic knowledge of vacuum technology an asset
• Excellent communication skills, team player
• Ability to learn rapidly
• Knowledge of quality techniques (Six Sigma) an asset

Production Technician

General Responsibilities
• Pre-coating surface preparation of components
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment and fixtures utilized for the preparation of components for coating
• Operation of Automated Cathodic Arc Physical Vapor Deposition Coating Machine
• Ensure that all paperwork and records meet customer contract requirements and job routing instructions
• All work is to be conducted under a strict quality process system

Specific Duties
• Assembly of substrates into fixtures
• General maintenance of process and coating machines and fixtures
• Prepare and perform all operations relating to production duties indicated on the Process Sheet
• Monitoring of coating parameters during production runs and record any applicable information required
• Working knowledge of applicable quality documents
• Responsible to follow specific processing procedures, and detect malfunctions or imperfections through surveillance of machinery and materials
• Must follow prescribed work methods or explicit instructions
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
• Manufacturing experience an asset
• Experience working in a quality controlled environment preferred
• Must be willing and able to work shifts

• Ability to operate a Computer is required
• Ability and willingness to work shifts is required
• High attention to detail quality required
• Must meet requirements for Controlled Goods licensing

C# Programmer Analyst

Duties
• Gathering and documenting requirements
• Leading and/or facilitating requirements sessions
• Performing detailed analysis and design of proposed application changes
• Performing program modifications and enhancements with minimal direction
• Developing and executing test cases and scenarios and documenting expected and actual outcomes
• Developing programs to extract or convert data for use in other programs, i.e. Excels
• Providing on-call support on an as-needed basis
• Developing and maintaining application documentation

Mandatory Requirements
• Experience as an analyst designing and/or developing mission critical applications
• Experience gathering and formally documenting requirements and performing detailed analysis and design of N-tier distributed applications using object oriented design techniques
• Experience working in a team
• Experience with formal change management procedures
• Experience developing SQL queries and stored procedures for an MS SQL Server database
• Experience building applications using C# with the .NET framework
• Ability and willingness to work shifts is required
• Bachelors of Computer Science
